997 smiles emerged from the doors of the Redford Brightmoor Initiative (RBI) on Saturday, December 5th, thanks to the generous efforts of many to make the 14th Annual One Stop Shop a glorious day. The 241 families who shopped translated into 414 adults and 583 children whose holidays will be a little brighter.
This year we provided new coats, hats, mittens and boots for children. An amazing army of volunteers showed up from the neighborhood, the suburbs, Gaylord and the University of Michigan. Angels donated small appliances, toys, used clothing and food to make the day successful.
RBI gratefully thank its sponsors:
- The Detroit Partnership (the organization made up of U of M students) which raised over $4,000 (amazing for college students!),
- Eagles for Children,
- Mittens for Detroit,
- Birmingham United Methodist Church,
- Brightmoor Aldersgate,
- Plymouth United Methodist Church, and
- St. Joseph Catholic Church.
